Well out of my 10 machines, 3 came with locks that didn't work for the back door. Unfortunately one is in a location now. But anyway, I got some new locks for free and replaced locks on two machines today. It really wasn't that big of a deal. It took me about an hour. And I can tell you that they are in there much better than was done by the company originally. They aren't going to be a problem anymore.
I pay $95 for my machines. They are tripple-head chrome stand/base machines. To purchase anything comparable you are talking $150 at my door. And to be honest I don't think the competition has a machine that looks as good as mine. The problem with the competitors machines is the bottom part of the chrome stand, the base. It is usually smaller, has a black ring around it, and doesn't look nearly as good as mine. I can tell you that my wide pipe big base chrome stands are the best looking on the market. The only thing better in my opinion is a wooden base (it just gives you that down home Cracker Barrel feel) but they get dirty and wood doesn't clean up well.
Kyle (a reader here on this blog) has me nervous that my machines are crap and to be honest he got me a little nervous myself. But, after careful consideration on my next machine purchase here is what I have resolved:
1. My machines cost 1/3 less than the next competing machine at $150.
2. My machines come with a 1 year warranty the same as almost every other machine.
3. If a coin mechanism does happen to break after a year I have $50 to fix it that I saved initially.
4. I can probably get a few extra coin mechanisms early by saying the machines have problems. They would rather send me one then mess with the hassle.
5. I don't see anything else major that can go wrong. It's either the lock or the coin mechanism.
Any ideas on this? I'm excited. I have 8/10 machines with homes and after I place those last two it's back to Miami for more. My first machine has been on location for two weeks; exciting.

Rob,
I want to tell you this. With BV machines you MUST look into the future! I your machine breaks in a year, wich it probley will, You lost 95 dollars. NOW, if you buy a machine that cost more, $50 more, the machine will last 4 times as longer. Now if you buy 4 machines at $95, thats $380. Witch if you would have paid $175, with crome stands, for the LYPC machine you saved...205!
Do you see my point? Buy cheap machines now, buy more cheap machines to replace the cheap machines you bought before! YOU MUST BUY GOOD MACHINES, NOT CHEAP MACHINES, BECAUSE THERE CHEAPER NOW! You will get your money back, by not having to buy more machines to replaced the cheap, broken ones.
Now, I dont know your finacal suitation, but buy good machines now! Thay cost more, but actual save you money, IN THE LONG RUN!

Rob,
No blog today? Really missed it! READ THE ABOVE POST!
I went back and was reading back comments, on your blog, and had to chim in about this:
"I was thinking about buying 10 or 20 machines and haveing them placed in Ohio/Kentucky"
Wonderfull idea! I live in Tenn. so if you would like, come on down here too. I live in Sparta TN. A wonderfull little, wealthy, town! Many nice peolpe in Tennessee so try to place some in TN. You are from Florida I recall, so try Georiga, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio! What a route! Start in Ohio and work down. In Oiho place 100 machines or so, In Kuntucky, place 100 machines or so, In Tennessee place 100 machines or so, In georiga place 100 machines or so, and in Florida place 300 machines or so. That is how you build a route. Try it!
Your 12 year old cusion can really help you out! Depending on what type of guy he is, if he's shy, NO. If he is out going, YES. Try it.
You would need to hire someone, possibly your cosin, to look after your machines. Fill them, and when you come in every three months, take the money out. That is possible to do that, with the machine you own. Let them take earnings from 1 machine a month, as long as thay find 20 locations a month for more machines. Give them a 200 dollars a month gas aolinace. Try it. Hire someone when you get around 20 machines in Ohio, but let your cosin help you with finding your first 20!
Kyle G.
Well I'll tell you Kyle, after placing those first 10 machines I feel good. I feel good about placing them and I feel good about the business. IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT? I want to buy more machines and do 10 more locations this week.
I feel like maybe I'm doing this too fast, are there any pit falls?
I don't want this business to kill me. These machines are going to make money arn't they? Let's hope.
Regards,
Rob
You are such a liar, a theif, AND an embarassment to the vending community! Fake charity? Stealing someone else's machines?
Disgusting. You ARE NOT a businessman, you are a spoiled rich kid who has never had a real job.
