Cynthia AKA The Terminator

I'm not sure if you all knew about Cynthia and I sending each other lists of businesses to cold call for each other. Anyway, I sent Cynthia a list of about 60 pizza places today and she sent me a list of only 15 restaurants to call, haha. So anyway. I figured I would start calling for her on Monday but hell she called for me today and already secured me a location!

Plus there are a few places that she wrote call back and one location that is remodeling and said come back August 21st. Cynthia, I'm going to ask you to call back those locations since they have already heard your voice on the phone. You are doing an outstanding job. We will keep this going.

NOW: I have all this pressure to get a location for Cynthia. I would call tomorrow but so many managers don't show up on Friday I think it would be fruitless. Maybe I will call anyway. I want to get her a location now!

EVERYONE NEEDS TO JOIN IN ON THIS PROGRAM
How it works:
  • Exchange a list of 30 names/numbers with Cynthia and I.
  • We each give you a list of 30 names/numbers to call.
  • Start making phone calls and securing locations for the other vendor!
WHY DOES THIS WORK?
  • More confidence calling for other people.
  • No pressure.
  • You don't get discouraged if it's not your own business.
  • No emotion.
  • It forces you to make calls you otherwise wouldn't make.
  • IT'S FREE!
I want more people in on this program now! Cynthia just wrote me a healthy location check. I can feel more to come. This program is wonderful. I love it and I think it can grow to much more. I want to hear your ideas and input/suggestions on this new program! GO CYNTHIA!

Candyman 007 AKA Rob

P.S. I placed a machine in a restaurant that my locator gave me today; an outstanding location. I also had lunch there. They wanted mints and all I could find were Mikenike chewy mints at the store. I figured it out, they cost me 12 cents per vend. Oh well, the gumballs will be the real money maker! I built 5 machines today, I hate building.

Rob,

I would but....? I hate calling people to locate machines. I can see if someone would call for me.

Rob,

I missed you built 5 today! That is some hard work! So, you ate lunch at that restraunt. Is it like a laid back bar type thing. I love eating at thoes places! I am only 19, so I cant drink! O well.. is your locator just keep finding these places without your approvment?

Hi Robert

It is my plan to only use a locator to get " jump started ". Like many other professionals he has learned a trade. We pay doctors...attorneys....plumbers...ect for what they already have learned. Without even going into it much I am sure there are good honest locators and there are sorry ones. I would like all the input possible about hiring a good one.

On past business ventures I have been a member of the local chamber twice. If someone really wanted to get their machines placed in new businesses this is the place to do it. Crestview and the surrounding area is one of the fastest growing in the state of Florida. I agree with Kyle...once the machines are placed I will have learned enough about the industry to find my own locations.

If you have not looked into your local chamber please do so. If you have the time visit our local web-site and you will quickly see how with ribbon cutting and other events you would be the first with your foot in the door to place a machine. If you look at the membership directory it does not have a vending member.

Well, it is a bar / restaurant. It's pretty laid back, I had a few beers for lunch, haha. I'm sure that wasn't the most professional thing to do but hey, I wanted to be the best patron I could be!

Well, my locator just keeps finding me locations. We're not on a set schedule or anything. I'm not complaining, the locations I have been getting are outstanding. I have plenty of machines to place!

Hey Alan,
I've been thinking of joining the local chamber of commerce for a while. The meetings are generally around $20 to attend and half price if you have a membership with the chamber which costs $350. I'm going to attend the next meeting, thanks for reminding me!

Hi Robert

For a business person with an exciting future in front of you your local chamber can provide you the needed networking. I have been to many general meeting breakfasts here in Crestview. Everything written by our Chamber below is true. Once I have 100 machines in place, I will find all the needed new locations at the Chamber.

The membership fees here are just $155 per year. There are no fees for meetings. The monthly breakfast are sponsored by members that put on a presentation. It is always quite the spread.....no charge to members. It is the best place to met new owners ( decision makers ) in a friendly and social environment. Rude people do not do well at these events. Most members are the same type people....business people just trying to make a living doing business with other people.

It is my stated goal to place and maintain 100 machines in this area. Being retired Army I do not need medical benefits. Each month a retirement check goes into my bank account. Unless someone can convince me otherwise the income from one hundred machines that average $20 is all I need. Thanks for listening.

Alan

Business Exposure/Network: First Thursday GENERAL MEMBERSHIP breakfast meetings; new member introduction and the opportunity to interact with an average of 200-plus business people in attendance. Members display their ads, flyers and business information on the resource tables.

Business Referrals: The Chamber staff provides thousands of member referrals daily, weekly and monthly to tourists, new residents, potential new residents, business people and the general population via the phone, e-mail, web site, walk-in inquiries and mail requests.

Advertising: Place your business cards, printed literature, brochures, flyers or full size ad in the Chamber's Profile Display. The Chamber will provide FREE advertisement for your business or organization through a variety of venues such as Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings, the Chamber's FOCUS newsletter as well as numerous other area publications and local radio station coverage.

Hi Robert

The best advertising is free advertising. Today someone not having an e-mail address while in business would be like someone not having a phone 30 years ago. Almost everyone has an e-mail address on their business card. Your chambers web-site ( see below ) does not have a direct link to members.

Consider collecting business cards at the events. I believe that you can go a long way starting with..." I am a member of the chamber also and would like to place a small machine in your lobby...it does not cost you anything...ect...ect..". They are new and do not want to offend anyone. " It does not cost you anything is not something a new business owner hears very often ".

I noticed that your membership in Naples does not list a vender. I have just spent considerable time visiting your areas web-site. It is well worth your time visiting and reading much of the material. In your area it would be easy getting your foot in the door with hundreds of different businesses. Visit just the ribbon cutting photos in the site.....how many would allow you to place them?

I know that asking for " the numbers " is difficult. Today I believe that by industry average a machine should take in $20 per month. Can anyone tell me different? My numbers do not change. 100 located machines in this area would complete my income goals and provide the " off time " I want.

Hey Alan, Thanks for helping out so much. I'm going to go to the next Chamber meeting. It's in a few days. I will network as much as I can! Maybe that $350 a year is worth it. I have a new post on the numbers coming up right now.
